Brookside Games: Ugandan Schools Dominate Football And Netball

Ugandan teams continued posting mixed results on Day 3 of the Brookside East Africa Secondary Schools Games with St. Mary’s Kitende Girls’ Basketball team beating South Sudan’s rumbek by 60 to 19 points. In the other Girls’ game, Rwanda’s Etyeng lost to Burundi’s Rice de luck by 62 to 57 points. In Boys’ Basketball, it was a matter of death and life between a South Sudan students’ dominated Kibuli SS and South Sudan’s Kuajok Secondary School.


Kuajok won the game with a null 66 to 63 points margin. And in Netball, St. Mary’s Kitende walloped Burundi’s GS Nemere 113 goals to 5. Boys’ Volleyball saw Markal of South Sudan beat Uganda’s Bulemba 3 – 0 before Kenyan champions Cheptil beat Rwanda’s Kalubamba 3 – 2. In Girls’ Volleyball, Rwanda’s Aroye beat Kenya’s Soweto 3 – 2 before Cheptil took an easy 3 – 0 victory over Uganda’s Trust High.


Local football champions Jinja SS recovered from yesterday’s 2 -1 loss to Kenya’s Kakamega and picked one point from a goal less draw with Nakaseke International School. St. Mary’s Kitende beat Rwanda’s Loyal Gitenga 6 – 1.
