Plans are in high gear to shift from locally made Woodball equipment to the modern type manufactured in China. Uganda Woodball Federation President Paul Mark Kayongo said the modern equipment will help to transform the sport. “Uganda Woodball Federation mandated to produce and distribute Woodball equipment in Africa has a production capacity of 10 sets of equipment per day and this is insufficient to the available demand in Uganda and Africa. Overholding the existing machinery with efficient and effective ones from China will enable us to produce 50 sets of equipment per day which is our target.” Said, Paul Mark Kayongo – President, Uganda Woodball.
Chinese Ambassador to Uganda Zheng backed Uganda Woodball Federation bid and pledged his support. The Ambassador revealed this after he paid a courtesy call to the Federation offices. Zheng believes the sport can be a strong tool for uniting Africa and the rest of the world. “Sports or Woodball playing is one of the vehicles for this exchange, it’s very usable. So that’s why I said we will continue Uganda Woodball Federation in future.” Said, Zheng – Ambassador of China. Uganda is currently the number one Woodball playing a nation in Africa.
The Chinese Embassy in Uganda has pledged to support the Uganda Woodball Federation in their efforts to upgrade the sport.
