IAAF World Championships' Ugandan Silver Medalist, Joshua Cheptegei Returns

It was at this moment that long distance runner Joshua Cheptegei knew that he had met the podium. Running the race of his life in a packed Olympic Stadium in London and finishing behind Mo Farah. “Am grateful and am really so happy, am delighted having gone out of the country and then coming back successfully. Of course, the theme of every runner is to emerge victorious in every international meet. Although I have not really met my dream I believe in the next edition of the World Championship, I intend and I might win a medal of gold.” Said, Joshua Cheptegei.

Cheptegei returned home this afternoon a Silver medalist that was further having run his last in London. Cheptegei believed that it was now his moment and made demands towards the government. “Because I really want is my intention, my ambition is my dream, I have to live it. No matter the circumstances, the hardships. Despite the so many hardships we undergo in this sport but I really want to prevail under all circumstance, no matter whether people are supporting me, no matter whether the government is doing it or not, they will have to do it.” Said, Joshua Cheptegei.

“It is possible, first of all, they even don’t have where to train from, there are so many facilities that are lacking, and at times they even go without money, they don’t get money, even those ones who were promised money, am sorry to say this; the boys have been complaining, coming to me that His Excellency the President promised them some money and they have not been getting.
