The team was being trained as usual but more was being done to enhance the skills and competency of the players. “Every player has to master as to where he can score from instead of mere punching anywhere. It is not good for players to punch anyhow rather aim at the target and at particular areas so that they can earn points and that’s how they can become successful in scoring matches. That is our main emphasis and we believe that at the end of the training, they will have acquired the required skills of good and competent players.” Said, Sam Kabugo – Coach Bombers.

In the World Tournaments, most of all the boxers had the same skills so it necessitated these local boxers to have at least different skills that would see them succeed from the rest. “We do body push-ups, we also do bench pressing, Lack pulls and all usual body fitness including heavy body exercises that help us build the body and also energizing it as well which enables the player to retain energy and speed while in a fight.” Said, Sam Kabugo.

Three players had been selected to represent Uganda in the Boxing Tournament to take place in Hamburg in Germany, the players included Geoffrey Kaketto, David Ayidde de Dragon, and Muzamilu Kakande Kingkong who won the Gold medal in the African Tournament.
