FDC Campaigns: Gloves Off As Front-Runners Muntu And Amuriat Face Off

The early morning down pour caused many of the FDC to arrive late for the party’s Delegates Conference at Nambole stadium. However, the rain was not enough to dampen the enthusiasm to hundreds who made it to the venue many arriving aboard taxis, buses, and even boda-bodas. Security was tight at the venue and all the delegates were searched thoroughly. Those without registration cards we told to stand aside. “The program would have started by exactly 8 am and now the programs are just beginning now at 10 o’clock. So I think even the time we had planned to vote will actually be extended to 3 pm which was to be around midday.”

Hungry delegates took off time to grab something to eat. One unidentified man was arrested for theft. “...him as an FDC, he doesn’t even have a card so that’s why he has been taken, he is now as a thief.” Towards 11 am, each of the four candidates was given 30 minutes to make final attempts to suede the delegates to vote in their favor. The main themes of the candidates were building the party and promoting the structures.
