I Nkurunziza Segu Francis being a Returning Officer for Wakiso Electoral District, having added up the number of votes cast as recorded on each declaration of results form in accordance with Section 53 of the Parliamentary Elections Act declare that the total number of valid votes cast for each candidate is as follows; Kantinti Apollo FDC scored 1,832, Kayongo Sowedi Maale who was an independent scored 377, Kyagulanyi Sentamu Robert also independent scored 25,659, Nkunyinji Muwadda independent scored 575, And Sitenda Sebalu William of NRM scored 4,552. These results are from all the 93 polling stations. the total number of valid votes cast for candidates was 32,999. The total number of invalid votes was 311. Therefore, the total number of ballot papers counted was 33,310. The total number of spoilt ballot papers were 41.
Accordingly, as a Returning Officer for Wakiso Electoral District and in accordance with Section 58 of Section 1 of the Parliamentary Elections Act, I declare Kyagulanyi Sentamu Robert who has obtained the largest number of votes to be the Elected Candidate for Kyadondo County East Constituency Wakiso district signed by me (jubilations from kyagulanyi’s supporters) So, you are the winner Mr. Kyagulanyi Sentamu Robert.

The very first thing I want to do is to reconcile the people of Kyadondo East through reconciling the leaders as you know, no matter how peaceful or calm an election can be, there’s always some division and I feel it is necessary for us to come together; to bring our people together through the leadership. I’m glad that I have a good relationship with most leaders but even those leaders that were not on my side, I hereby call upon them to realize that now the divisions of elections are over and it is time for us to work together to bring the positive change that our people so badly need.” Said, Kyagulanyi Sentamu Robert. what is the future of your music, what is the future of your talent? “No, am a talented musician! music has always been a tool, a vehicle for me to transport messages far and wide. There people who are saying that a lot of musicians and comedians are getting into Parliament and so it is the lit thing of the quality of Parliament, how do you explain that and what message do you have for such people? there is something called stereo type yeah, for long there has been that stereo type but probably that’s why God raises people like me to prove certain negative perceptions wrong. I was born in the Ghetto, it is me, I went to school, I graduated from Makerere University but I was not employed. It is music that brought me to your screens, brought me to your sitting rooms, brought me to your soul, it is music that has communicated most of the things I wanted to communicate.
