Promoting The Arts: NTV Uganda And Turkish Embassy Launch Graffiti Contest

Visual and literal artists are now in partnership with NTV to showcase their works on a bigger media platform.NTV signed a memorandum of understanding with artists to promote visual and literal works - an arrangement that will deliver to the country and the world talented Ugandans with excellent Artistic skills. To start with, NTV and the Artists’ Associations will in the next two weeks embark on a graffiti challenge that will attract hundreds of Artists from across the country and the winner of the challenge will be sponsored to an Art residence in Turkey. Turkish Ambassador to Uganda Sedef Yavuzalp, a painter herself encouraged Ugandan Artists to use media space to hit universal rankings.


“We are now coming to support the government in an area that they have for the longest time neglected and saying since you are not doing this in the interest of Public and Private Sector development. We are also going to take on the Visual and Cultural Artists.” Said, Aggie Konde – Managing Director, NTV.


“I want to tell you that you must never ever emulate or copy western art or Asian art or any other nation or country’s art because you are so original, you are so unique, and you have your own profound long history and culture so why should you be copying any other art movements?” Said, SedenYavuzalp – Turkish Ambassador to Uganda.
