The scenes at the International Crimes Division of the High Court were those that would make the fible quake. Security was beefed up right from the entrance with the traffic police clearing the road through to the checkpoint where the canine dog unit carried on a thorough check on metal materials. Inside court, Counter Terrorism Police, JAT and Prisons Officers were deployed and fully armed. At exactly 9:41 the motorcade escorting the prisoners including the ADF Chief Jamil Mukulu arrived. With loud sirens announcing that this was no ordinary prisoner. And finally, the Prison Bus stopped. And out came the man everyone had been waiting for; the ADF Chief. Dressed in a light blue shirt and grey trousers with a Muslim cap, Mukulu was chained up in the hands and legs and immediately the press started capturing the moment as he headed towards the public.
He was then, whisked away to a room only accessible to Uganda Prisons from where he was taken to court for the start of the hearing. In the corners of the court, guards and snippers were on alert as some were seen looking out through the fence that separates the busy business center and the justice house. Inside court, relatives of the accused were searched thoroughly before being sent to the next courtroom where they would follow the trial proceedings on two television sets. Different colors of security agencies today converged at the High Court to ensure that no mistake is committed as the Allied Democratic leader Jamil Mukulu appeared for pre-trial at the High Court.
