The bodies of 2-year-old Nakiwonga and 4-year-old Israel Namalego were discovered on Monday evening in eucalyptus plantation. An employee at a farm neighboring the plantation came across the bodies and alerted the residents. "Our employee was slashing. He saw the flies and later the body. We alerted residents and police. The residents discovered the other body." It is believed that the kidnappers took advantage of a party in the neighborhood to kidnap the children while their parents and other residents were not paying attention. "Those people were preparing for a party but the party was going to be there but preparing the items to take to the venue. And some light music was around. What is surprising is that the people there did not see this person."
The 11-year-old brother of the deceased children said he lost track of his siblings after he had been sent to pick some food for them. "My mother asked me to serve my siblings' food. She then inquired where I had left the children and I told her they were at the gate." "I think the person who was to do harm to these children was all along waiting for the oldest of the three children to go away. And likey enough luck struck when the mother called the taller one.” Said, Patrick Mukiibi – Deceased Children’s Uncle.
The children’s parents still cannot understand why they were killed. “I have no grudges with anyone because I came to his place as a proprietor of a school.” Said, Charles Katende – Deceased Children's Father. The mother had the locals scared of their own lives and those of their children. "Investigations would take some time but we are always sure that investigations were going to come up with a report." According to the officer-in-charge of Naluvule Police Station, investigations are ongoing but no arrests have been made. "Unfortunately we have not yet made any arrests but I strongly believe the intelligence and CID network on the ground, we shall be able to get some results." Said, Jeffrey Katehero – OC, Naluvule Police Station.
