Abductors Demand Ransom For Busia Trader

Jacklyn Masibo a trader in Busia town and a mother of four was taken away on Friday night by unknown people traveling in an Ipsum vehicle and on a motorcycle. Jane Namaleke the victim’s mother said her daughter was at Busia Taxi Park headed to Tororo district to see her husband who was in the hospital. “Jacklyn had prepared food to take to her husband in the hospital. He called me after waiting for Jacklyn for so long. We had looked for Jacklyn everywhere in Busia but in vain. We reported to Police but she has not been found.”

One of Masibo’s sons Junior Kakala witnessed the incident. "A motorcycle first parked in front of her then an Ipsum vehicle stopped and the driver lied to her that Malaba Bridge had collapsed. She sat on the motorcycle and left but I saw the Ipsum following them. I did not take it seriously and returned home.” Said, Junior Kakala – Victim’s Son. Fatuma Nabwire a neighbor of the family said they had called Masibo’s phone number but the people who answered demanded to be paid before they could release their captive. The phone was switched off shortly after the money was sent. “They demanded Kshs 10,000 which we sent. After receiving the money, they switched off the phones.” Said, Fatuma Nabwire – Victim’s Neighbor.

"Jackie has left young children and they are all still at school. If you know you are having her please do us a favor." Masibo’s uncle Damasco Odeya said they were worried about her safety. “We have heard cases of people being kidnapped, a ransom sent and they still end up murdered.” Said, Damasco Odeya – Relative. The family reported the matter to Busia Police Station.
