“None of the districts said or told a Member of Parliament to go and support amending Article 102 (b). All the Acholi Sub-region they told us that please go and say no. we were surprised seeing some of our Members of Parliament whom the voters instructed him/her to go and say no, him/her went to Parliament ad started going contrary. These Members of Parliament who voted yes, I think these Members of Parliament are well known. They start from Agago; we have Hon. Otto Edward who voted yes, Hon. Noctrach William, we have Hon. Catherine from Omoro, we have Hon. Beatrice Anywar from Kitgum Municipality, we have Hon. Lamwaka Odwa from Kitgum district, we have Hon. Lanyero Mori from Rwamo, we have Hon. Minister Hillary Onek and Hon. Minister Oryem. Those are the people who voted yes. But for the Minister, we are saying at least for them they formed different groups of people; you know they form the executive arms of government, therefore, they are bound with their collective responsibility.” Said, Gilbert Olanya – Member of Parliament, Kilka South.
“We realized there are traitors among us. We realized that there certain issues which we need to discuss certain interests of the Acholi which we have to discuss and agree on before taking to the central government.” Said, Odonga Otto – Member of Parliament, Arua County. “Kitgum Municipality Omoro will travel as the remaining Acholi Parliamentary group. First of all to console the people, secondly to consider possibilities collecting signatures for a vote of no confidence.”
“They have no right to suspend anybody for his consent, consent is given by God, not by them.” Said, Bishop Baker Ochola II – Former Bishop of Kitgum Diocese. “Acholi Parliamentary group is a voluntary grouping, it’s not legally binding. It is a voluntary grouping and when I go there, there is no statement in their working document or Constitution that you must be in Opposition or that you must be in government.” Said, Daniel Komakech – Lecturer, Gulu University.
