Traffic on approximately 22 km along Northern By-pass which is a major link between several parts of the City and outside was a nightmare in the days leading up to the Festive Season. The Police were deployed at the junctions and the roundabouts to guide flow. Some drivers were not patient and tried to overtake. Public Taxi operators said the gridlock cut down on the number of routes they could do in a day. “This year’s jam was too much.” And for passengers, it’s was time-consuming. “As passengers, it has affected our movements to the village.”
Most of those affected were traveling to Mityana, Masaka, and areas along those routes. Badly parked vehicles in Busega contributed to the traffic jam.
