A motorist fleeing to rescue their life amidst a hail of stones. The crowd baying for his blood claimed he had failed to identify himself at one of the numerous roadblocks some residents erected within the town following the Supreme Court ruling. The highly tuned youth then set his vehicle on fire before vandalizing it.
Two attempts by the protestors to burn the nearby Condole Police Station using a mode of cocktail failed after the Police responded swiftly and put out the fire. For close to three hours the Police and the protestors seemed engaged in cat and mouse paralyzing businesses around Condole – Kibuye market. “We are ready to go to Nairobi and make sure very well that Raila has taken oath and has become the President of the Republic of Kenya. If at all Uhuru cannot abide by that, we are going for Sesesion and we are ready for Sesesion.” A booster believed to belong to Safari Com was set a lite same to the lorry. Some shops were damaged too as hundreds of protestors rampaged through Mugori, Migosi, Nyawitta and Lorwe Estates.
In Migori, one person was shot dead as similar protests rocked the town. The man only identified as Mandela was rushed to Oluba Nursing Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The Police fired several teargas canisters to disperse the angry residents who had blocked roads leading in and out of Migori County. Vehicles which were heading to Tanzania were banned from reaching the border town of Sirari for several hours.
