A group of armed men believed to be twelve attacked villages in Busia district. “They first forced their entry into homes of some rich people, stole property which they were seen carrying.”

Egesa, a 20-year-old was shot dead on the way from Bundohira village where they had broken into three homes. Family members said that Egesa and colleagues were out in the night as they collected firewood to bake their bricks when the gunmen opened fire. “One of the young men screamed saying there are thieves, one of the gunmen ordered his colleague to shoot. The bullet shot incidentally caught him causing much bleeding while his colleagues ran for safety.” The Busia District Police Commander confirmed the shooting. “He made noise, he made an alarm and when he made an alarm; the other ones said that this one might have identified us so they never wanted to leave any tresses of finding them.” He said that the security guard was arrested in relation to the crime.
