Health Focus: Fatigue Is A Little Known Cause Of Major Illnesses

With demands to fend for a family in society-driven by capitalists’ protagonists, it would come with a burden of exhaustion and fatigue. Such instances of temporary fatigue usually had an unidentifiable cause. “It may usually be a sign of being overworked or not getting enough sleep or rest. However, there are other lifestyle factors known to cause fatigue. These include the use of Alcohol or drugs, excess physical activity, jet lag, lack of sleep, medications such as cough medicines and unhealthy eating habits. “There is a common thing that we know today that causes fatigue, it’s a condition we call chronic fatigue syndrome. Now, chronic fatigue syndrome is what many people would present with where they have worked for many years without taking leave, without getting rest and who sleep very little. And this is very harmful to health because it affects your mental faculties, it affects your detoxification processes in your body and it really drains people.” Said Dr. Kasenene.


Dr. Paul Kasenene a qualified medical doctor who specializes in functional and nutritional medicine said the constant state of wellness over time reduces your energy, motivation, and concentration. “If you are feeling fatigued all the time, it may be a sign that your body has a high toxic load and you can actually check that out.” Said Dr. Kasenene. Fatigue is not a disease but could be a sign of many other diseases and if it persists then you need to seek medical advice.


“We should not just attribute fatigue to a stressful situation, or to a busy lifestyle because it may be a sign of more serious thus underlying.” Said Dr. Kasenene. Dr. Kasenene explained to us how fatigue could be diagnosed. “We do a blood count, we look for the Hemoglobin levels, we check if you are sick, if you’ve diabetes or if you’ve any signs of a thropsyred, we will also check your hormone levels especially cortisol and if we find that you cortisol levels are very low; that’s a sign that you have a drain old depletion or exhaustion and we can correct that. We also want to check your sex hormones especially the men, if you have a low testosterone then we know that could be the case.” Said, Dr. Kasenene.


He said exercising and taking rest was a remedy for fatigue among other recommendations. “Just 30 minutes of exercise even three times a week would go a long way to reduce fatigue and drinking a lot of water.
