After all the sleepless nights, early mornings, traffic jam, homework, tantrums and fatigue, the school term has finally come to an end. What a long term it has been for me? With the heavy rains that have characterized this month, the term couldn’t have ended at a better time.
I asked my boys how they intended to occupy themselves for the three weeks holiday and this is what they had in mind, play, and more play.Well, that will not happen on my watch, play they shall but I do have a lot of action packed for them.
One week would be spent on the farm, it was about time they learned how to differentiate between a dog and a goat, harvest some coffee and earn their school fees, the second week would be spent visiting their grandparents and tapping into their wealth of wisdom , finally the third week would be spent at my retail shop, it's about time they learned how to make money.
We have been instructed by the school to buy piggy banks for each child and teach them how to save this holiday, thereafter an account shall be opened in the child's name, I will pay each child at the end of the holiday which money will be used to open their respective accounts, as such they will learn how to work, earn and save, life skills they will require for survival.
Hopefully, the skills I intend to impart on them this holiday will have a positive lasting effect in their life and they will put them into practice.
