How many times have we heard a jobless person throw a self pity party about how they’ve failed to get a job despite applying severally! Most of them have but given up and taken on begging as a career. I usually advice such people to start income generating activity to earn some money and most times their response is “I do not have the capital”.
In most cases such an individual may have approached you to beg for the ninth time. today am going to explore business that require a maximum of 25 US dollars or 100,000/= Uganda shillings start up capital. However, for any business to succeed one must have passion, patience and faith.
Let's take an example of a farmer who plants a seed in the ground, he does not go and check his gardens every morning to find out if the seed has germinated but has faith that at the right time the seed will germinate with water and sunshine and he would surely reap from his seed.
We must apply the same virtues in business, have a passion for whatever venture you are doing, nurture it, love it and learn a new thing about your venture daily. You must also have faith that just like the farmer’s seed that germinated, your business too will grow.
You must have the patience, you may fail sometimes but do not give up. pick yourself up and count your losses. You must save because there is no other way to expand your business other than saving. spend less, save more!
These ideas I share today are either home based or online businesses because realistically with this amount one cannot afford rent, licence and permit fees among others.
Charcoal Business the minimum required to buy half a sack of charcoal is 25,000/=. in most suburbs, charcoal is delivered at your doorstep so no transport costs are involved. You will require measuring containers which can be recycled from within your house and begin selling immediately from your doorstep to your neighbors.
With 100,000/=, you will get 2 bags of charcoal with each bag giving you a profit of 20,000/=. if you save 10,000 per bag, expect that in 6 months business will have expanded by selling bags of charcoal.
Other ideas include baking cakes. you can start with a charcoal stove if you do not have a sigiri, snacks, make these and supply to the retail shops around you. drinks, especially if you leave in a crowded neighborhood and own a fridge stock it with drinks and sell! Liquid soap, shampoo, handbags, beads etc. The list is endless.
However, I have noticed that even when you avail one with the above information, a few of them are willing to act. Most are interested in handouts and not willing to start small, and patiently make their money to grow. It is this mentality that needs to stop.
We need more entrepreneurs, parents need to start teaching their children as Early as possible the value of hardwork, business and entrepreneurship!
