Most Unusual Things Found In A Fashionable Woman’s Handbag!

An ordinary woman should have at least three handbags, granted there are ladies who collect bags, I know ladies who own over 300 hand bags and are still collecting. I am not talking to you, you belong in rehab, you need help, with rehabilitation, counseling and some medication I believe you can be released back into society to live a somewhat normal life!

This addiction that makes you spend each last penny buying bags, you spend days online ordering the latest trend, you have filled up your closet with bags that you don’t even know you own and yet you still want more! my sister, you need prayers! I will talk to or about you another day, today I wish to talk to the ordinary, practical ladies who own and carry a bag for functionality!

The ordinary practical woman owns at least three handbags, the massive bag that can be used as a picnic bag, travel bag, shopping bag, the stylish bag that should be trendy and carried with the intention of making a statement and the everyday bag that you sling over your shoulder with ease and dash out of the house. This should be a plain dark color, black, brown or blue. Should be medium sized and sturdy, invest in pure leather. Lady’s bags have been known to carry the most outrageous things because quite frankly we need to be ready for emergencies not only for ourselves but also those around us. Some of the items found in our bags may shock you but trust me, they come in handy!

Some unusual items you may find in any woman’s age include safety pins, in case you lose a button, burst a zip, a needle and thread, you may need to sew or patch something, hand cream, wipes, sanitizer, napkins, comfy shoes, a scarf, in extreme cases a lesu, nail polish, nail cutter, nail file, razor blade etc.

I have seen some outrageous things come out of women’s bags that leave me shocked. A friend of mine swears that while coming from a drinking spree with a group of friends, the car they were traveling in got a flat tire, in the middle of nowhere, in their drunken state they discovered that they did not have a wheel spanner, the lone girl they were traveling with came to their rescue by pulling out a wheel spanner from her handbag and went ahead to change the tire single handedly! I still wonder at this story, what was the size of the handbag? Why would a girl who does not own a car move around with a wheel spanner? Was she a mechanic?

I have seen mothers unleashing baby bottles, formula, flasks, pampers baby wipes from their handbags, it amazes how they are able to fit all these items into the bags! Most ladies do not litter, its bad manners to throw trash as you walk around, they wrap it into a “kavera” and keep it in the handbag. The bag comes in handy as a trash can, to be emptied later in the comfort of your room.
Of late, most ladies have decided to embrace all things organic, African and natural so I must add a fourth bag, the African hand-woven bag, this can be made from Kitenge, sisal, recycled paper, I have even seen a bean bag.

Whatever your taste, carry your bag with pride, sling your bag over your shoulder and walk with your head held high, only you know what lies within your bag!
